I participated in the 2012 Ride for Heart. I rode 50km and raised over $2,600 thanks to the generosity of many people. I rode alone last year and I’ll ride alone again this year but the goal for next year is to see my daughter well enough to ride with me.
The plan is to ride 75km this year – and maybe 100km but that’s a stretch! Nevertheless, the riding is the easy part. The toughest thing is to reach out to people and ask them to donate money – everyone has a budget and a favourite charity so it’s not a question of generosity alone but also of deciding on good causes.
If you can help, please do. If not, maybe next year, or the next, or the one after. I’m in this for the long haul.
